Dinner with my daughter

no titleYesterday, I had extra spicy yakisoba for lunch and dinner with my second-eldest daughter who lives far away from home.
She stayed in Tokyo for a week with my eldest daughter and spent another week with her family in Okazaki (meaning us).

After being told that it was the first time we had ever eaten alone together, I saw she had a point.
Now that I think about it, there are almost no pictures of me in our family album.
I was a father who did nothing and never lent an ear to his children.

Yet, our meal was not eaten in silence, and the topics of conversation seemed to flow one after another.
It was a casual conversation that hit on some deeper topics as well.
Unfortunately, the good times had to come to an end as our stomachs could no longer hold any more food.

I'm just glad to have had the chance to tell her,
"You have a much better sense of judgment than I do. You should do what you think is best."

My daughter will be heading back to her home tomorrow.

"second-eldest daughter" = "second daughter", "younger daughter"でいい気がする。
長女と次女しかいないんだし^^

パパッと読んだ感じ、
"the good times"は、timeの単数形でいい気がするのと、"best"にはいつも"the"が着くと習った気が。

あらさがしみたいになっちゃって(あらさがしそのものか)申し訳ないです。
とても楽しかったよ。
照れくさいけど、またやろうね。
